What it does
Qeet People holds the record of who works for an organisation and what follows from that: time off, attendance, salary, and the deductions and contributions the law requires.
Payroll is the demanding part. It has to be correct to the rupee, on a fixed date, with filings that go to several different authorities on several different schedules.
Why it matters
Payroll is unusual among business software in that "mostly right" is not a category. An error is not a defect to be fixed next release — it is somebody's rent, and often a regulatory matter as well.
Indian statutory payroll in particular carries obligations that generic international systems handle poorly or not at all, which is why so many organisations here end up running payroll beside their HR system rather than inside it.
Where it fits
Qeet People is where an organisation's understanding of its own workforce lives. It is the natural counterpart to Qeet ID: one knows who someone is, the other knows what they do.
